MTN-NG foundation scholarship

MTN-NG is  one of the largest Nigerian based network providers with headquarters at Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos. MTN-NG provides wide range of services such as cellular network access, ICT solutions, data services, mobile TV, short messaging services etc.

MTN-NG STS & SBS Scholarship:

The MTN foundation scholarship was first launched in the year 2010 as a means of supporting science and technology based education in Nigeria and to help cushion the effects of financial burden on Nigerian students.

The science and technology (STS) scholarship is designed for students who are currently studying science and technology related discipline while the Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is for the blind students currently in public or private universities, polytechnic, or colleges of education in Nigeria .

The 2024 edition of the scholarship application is currently open with this year's scholarship amount increased from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000

Legibility:

  1. The following are the eligibility criteria:
  2. Must be a Nigerian studying in either public or private university, polytechnic, or college of education,
  3. Must be in the second semester of 200level, or currently in 300level first semester,
  4. Must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.0 for polytechnic students or 3.5+/4.00 for university students,
  5. Direct entry students must have gotten a CGPA of at 3.00 (upper credit) in his/her OND.
  6. For SBS, blind students in colleges of education or polytechnics must have a minimum CGPA  2.00 while direct entry blind students are expected to have gotten a minimum of 2.00 in his or her OND.

Scholarship worth:

The scholarship is valued at an amount ₦300,000 annually. 

Number of scholarship:

The number of blind students to receive this award has been increased from 60 to 100 while that of non blind students are not specified.
